Welcome to the official website for the Airdrie Bathgate Rail Link project

Why does Airdrie Bathgate Rail Link project look like this?

Your browser wasn't able to properly load the styling information (“stylesheets”) which control the look feel of the Airdrie Bathgate Rail Link project site. Whilst the site may remain useable, you may find that some enhanced functionality may not be available. You're welcome to continue to browse the site as-is, or you can upgrade your browser to a newer version which supports web standards.

YOUR Page

As well as the many benefits that this line will bring, we understand that re-building the railway may cause disruption for some people who live along the route.

So this is YOUR page, an interactive space where we will keep you up-to-date on the regular meetings we hold along the route and most importantly, where you can give us your views and ask questions.

Let's Meet

We host regular meetings known as "Community Forums" to give you the opportunity to find out more about the project and its progress as well as to give us the chance to answer your questions and listen to your views.

The Community Forums are open to everyone to participate. Dates and venues are highlighted on this website as well as in local newspapers, on posters in your local shops, libraries and community centres as well as through your community council and directly by email, to those of you who have registered for updates.

We try to time our Community Forums to co-incide with significant periods of work or when there is information that relates directly to your community. We also provide regular updates through our project and construction newsletters. Since work began in June 2007, we have held 10 Community Forums.

Let's Talk

We are always keen to hear what you think about the project, whether you will use the new line and how you think it will benefit you. We would also like to know how you feel about our communications - do we give you the information you need when you need it? Is there anything else you would like to discuss?

Between December 2007 and February 2008 your views about the Airdrie – Bathgate Rail Link project, as well as your thoughts about our new website, were collected through our online survey.  Thank you to the 88 respondents who took part in the survey . If you would like to see the results of the survey, click here.

Compulsory Purchase

Compulsory purchase refers to the land we need to acquire to make way for the railway. All those who are affected by this process have already been informed by Network Rail and initial Notices were sent in January 2008. The next stage of the process will begin in April 2008.
