Uphall

Station facts:

  • Uphall Station will be upgraded as part of the project
  • The upgraded station will include an additional platform to the north of the existing railway, ramps and an extended car park
  • Planned station facilities include:
    • 2 platforms, and ramps
    • Waiting shelters on each platform
    • Self service ticket machines and information via a call point located on each platform
    • 24 hour CCTV for both station and car park which will be closely monitored from regional control rooms
    • 275 car-parking spaces (of which 20 will be for people with disabilities) increased from 154 at the existing station

Key fact: Uphall Station, as its name suggests, is a small village based around a railway station close to the town of Uphall. Uphall itself is famous for its 12th Century church, Strathbrock St Nicholas. The name Strathbrock was adopted by the parish relatively recently, but the name itself is an ancient one, meaning Valley of the Badgers.
