Key facts: Haymarket station was opened in 1864 and is Scotland’s fourth busiest station. The station was Edinburgh's original terminus for trains from Glasgow but is now predominantly a commuter station due to it’s proximity to the Edinburgh Business Park but is also used by leisure travellers visiting major venues in the west of the city - such as Murrayfield rugby stadium.
