  • There will be a new station at Caldercruix located on the west edge of the town
  • There will be access from the centre of the village for local traffic and from the A89 for other traffic, reducing traffic flow through the village
  • Planned station facilities include:
    • 2 platforms, 1 underpass, stairs and ramps
    • Waiting shelters on each platform
    • Self service ticket machines and passenger information via a call point located on each platform
    • 24 hour CCTV for both station and car park which will be closely monitored from regional control rooms
    • 165 car-parking spaces (of which 10 will be for people with disabilities) with land provided for possible future extension

Key fact: The village of Caldercruix developed in the 19th century around a paper mill. It sits on North Calder Water and takes its name from the meanderings or 'crooks' of the river.
