The Airdrie-Bathgate Railway and Linked Improvements Act does not include provision for a station at Blackridge. The Scottish Government has made a commitment to investigate proposals to build a station at Blackridge - which will be taken forward separately.

Consequently, Network Rail will construct the rail link so that it is possible to build a station at Blackridge in the future.
