Blackridge

Station facts:

  • Access to the station will be from Craiginn Terrace
  • Planned station facilities include:
    • 2 platforms, footbridge, stairs and ramps
    • Waiting shelter on each platform
    • Passenger information via a call point located on each platform
    • 24 hour CCTV for both station and car park which will be closely monitored from regional control rooms
    • 54 car-parking spaces (of which 5 spaces will be for Blue Badge Holders)

Two trains will stop per hour, in each direction, with an approximate journey time of approximately 36 minutes to Edinburgh and 38 minutes to Glasgow.

Key fact: Blackridge village owes its origins to mining and quarrying as well as being used as a coaching stop between Glasgow and Edinburgh. A community museum, housed in the stable block of an old coaching inn, exhibits the history of the village with artefacts donated by local people.
