Station facts:

  • Bathgate station will be relocated approximately 400 metres to the east of the existing station
  • The new station will include a ticket office, two platforms, a footbridge, lifts and stairs
  • Bathgate ticket office will be staffed during peak times
  • Planned station facilities include:
    • 2 platforms, 1 footbridge with stairs and a lift
    • Waiting shelters on each platform
    • Self service ticket machines and information via a call point located on each platform
    • 24 hour CCTV for both station and car park which will be closely monitored from regional control rooms
    • A new access footpath from the town centre
    • 400 car-parking spaces (of which 20 will be for Blue Badge holders) increased from 132 at the existing station

Four trains per hour will stop in each direction with an approximate journey time of 25 minutes to Edinburgh and 45 minutes to Glasgow.

Key fact: Bathgate has produced a number of sporting heroes including motor racing sensation Dario Franchitti as well as former Ryder Cup captains Bernard Gallagher and Eric Brown. Up incoming racing driver Paul Di Resta is locally predicted to continue this tradition.
