Station facts:

  • There will be a new station at Armadale located to the south of the town
  • Access to the station will be from the centre of Armadale and Whitburn
  • Planned station facilities include:
    • 2 platforms, 1 footbridge, stairs and ramps
    • Waiting shelters on each platform
    • Self service ticket machines and passenger information via a call point located on each platform
    • 24 hour CCTV for both station and car park which will be closely monitored from regional control rooms
    • 199 car-parking spaces (of which 11 spaces will be for Blue Badge holders) with land provided for possible future extension

Two trains will stop per hour in each direction with an approximate journey time of 30 minutes to Edinburgh and 41 minutes to Glasgow.

Key fact: An ex-mining town, Armadale is now best known for its leaning clock tower on West Main Street. The town also has a long established football team, Armadale Thistle who reside at Volunteer Park.
