Using our website

Each page has a common structure, optimised to 1024x768 pixels resolution and based on a five panel structure:

  1. The top of the page has our main navigation links
  2. The middle of the page is where you’ll find the text of the page you’ve browsed to.
  3. The right-hand navigation has links and features related to the current page.
  4. At the bottom of the page you will find the footer with Contact Us, Site Map, Privacy Policy, Help and links.

Change the Text Size

Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Open the ‘View’ menu with the mouse.
  3. Click on ‘Text Size’.
  4. Choose your preferred text size with the mouse, or use the up and down arrow keys and press 'Enter'.

Netscape (4.6)

  1. Open your Netscape browser.
  2. Open the ‘Edit’ menu with your mouse.
  3. Select ‘Preferences’ to open the preferences dialog box.
  4. Click on ‘Font’ underneath the ‘Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Font’ double click on ‘Appearance’ to expand the category.
  5. Navigate to the ‘Minimum Font Size' box on the right hand side. Click on the arrow and select a new font size then press ‘Enter’.
  6. Click ‘OK’ or press ‘Enter’ to return to the page you were viewing.

Netscape Navigator (6.2, 7.0)

  1. Open your Netscape browser.
  2. Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press the plus (+) key.
  3. This will enlarge the text, to enlarge again repeat the procedure.
  4. Repeat until the text is enlarged to your requirements.
  5. To make the text smaller press Ctrl on your keyboard and the minus ( - ) key.

Change the Font

Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  1. Open your Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Open the ‘Tools’ menu with the mouse.
  3. Click on ‘Internet Options’, or press 'O'.
  4. Click ‘Accessibility’, or press Alt+E.
  5. 5. Check the ‘Ignore font styles specified on Web pages’ checkbox with the mouse or by pressing Alt+S.
  6. Click ‘OK’, or press enter.
  7. Click ‘Fonts’, or press Alt+N.
  8. Choose a web page font of your choice with the mouse, or by pressing Alt+W and arrow through the list.
  9. Press Enter twice or Click 'OK' twice.

Netscape (4.6)

  1. Open your Netscape browser.
  2. Open the ‘Edit’ menu with the mouse.
  3. Click on ‘Preferences’ to open the preferences dialog box.
  4. Use the arrow keys to select the ‘Font’ heading underneath the ‘Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Font’ heading, double click on Appearance’ to expand the category.
  5. Navigate to the box labelled ‘Allow documents to use other fonts’ and press the space bar, or use the mouse, to ensure that this option is not checked.
  6. Navigate to the Proportional dropdown box.
  7. Select the font you wish to use - either Serif or Sans Serif.
  8. Set the default size. Use the mouse to click in the size box immediately after the proportional font.
  9. Navigate to the Serif box. Press up or down, choose the font you want and press enter, or use the mouse to click on the font that you want (this will only be used if you selected Serif as the Proportional font in stage 5).
  10. Navigate to the Sans Serif box. Click on the font you want (this is only be used if you selected Sans Serif as the proportional font).
  11. Navigate to the ‘Cursive’ box. Click on the font you want if a cursive font is specified on a webpage.
  12. Navigate to the ‘Fantasy’ box. Click on the font you want if a ‘Fantasy’ font is specified on a webpage.
  13. Navigate to the Monospace box. Click on the font you want if a monospace font is specified on a webpage.

Change the Font Colour and Background Colour

Internet Explorer (5.0, 5.5 and 6.0)

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on 'Internet Options', or press 'O'.
  3. Click on the 'Colors' button, or press Alt+O.
  4. Choose to have your Windows colour scheme reflected by selecting the "Use Windows colors" option with the mouse or by pressing Alt+W. Or Choose either the Text button with the mouse (or by pressing Alt+T), or the Background button with the mouse (or by pressing Alt+B).
  5. Choose the colour with the mouse or by using the arrow keys.
  6. Click the 'OK' button twice, or press Enter twice.

Netscape (4.6)

  1. Open your Netscape browser.
  2. Open the ‘Edit’ menu with mouse or press Alt+E.
  3. Click on ‘Preferences’ or press 'E'.
  4. Use the arrow keys or click to select the ‘Colors’ heading underneath the Appearance’ category. If you cannot see the ‘Colors’ heading,double click on 'Appearance' to expand the category.
  5. Choose to have your Windows colour scheme reflected by ‘Tabbing to the Use System Colors option’.
