Construction is well underway on one of the most significant rail projects in Scotland for several decades.

If you live locally, you may have seen our construction team out and about, working hard to deliver this Transport Scotland funded project. Before very long, you will see the new rail line begin to take shape.

Every milestone completed brings us a step closer to linking communities across Central Scotland.

Already those using the line between Edinburgh and Bathgate are experiencing more reliable services following the works to double track the line.

By the end of 2010, the people in West Lothian and North Lanarkshire will enjoy the full benefits of this project.
